Clayton Park is located up from Fairview heading further out from the city. It has come into its own and moreso within the last 5 years. Definitely a new section of the city, it has grown into its own little city. Grocery outlets, retailers,movie theatres,fast food outlets, are all in abundance. The Bayer Lake business area just off of or attached to Clayton Park is home to many a new business including Walmart,Staples,Kent Building supplies,Burger King, A Movie Megaplex and more. There is isn't much one wouldn't find here nowadays. Clayton Park of itself is mainly a residential area with new homes and apartment complexes being erected on a regular continuous basis. This area of the city is also close to the highways leading out of Halifax, and other surrounding communities as well. There are some lodging spots in relatively close proximity to this area.

Future Inn This is the newest hotel located very close to bayers lake in halifax. The hotel has 135 rooms, 7 suites; smoking and non smoking rooms. They have internet access in the rooms as well. Parking is free, as are local calls. They have an onsite restaurant open daily till 10pm. You can get a free day pass to the local gym just 5 mins away by vehicle; if walking would probably take you 25 mins or so. The location of this hotel is ideal for very nearby is shopping, movie theatres, all kinds of eating spots. It will take you 5-10 to walk or a couple of mins by vehicle to access the bayers lake strip.
