The Teachers Union is located on Joseph Howe Drive, close to Fairview. This is easy to find if coming off the 102 highway. This area of the city if close to 3 malls, Bayers Road Shopping Centre,Halifax Shopping Centre and West End Mall, all are about a 15-20 walk from the Teacher Union location. Although this area if primarily residential,there is a Burger King, Dairy Queen,KFC, not far away. There are no lodging spots in short walking distance but certainly within driving.

Chebucto Inn This small but quaint 30 room inn is located in the opposite direction from Keddys mentioned above. About a 10 minute drive from the Teachers Union. This Inn has two levels,entrance is from the outside. They have ample free parking, restaurant facilities,a bar, and weekly entertainment. If driving, this location is about a 5-7 min drive to the downtown areas, and under 5 min to popular fast food outlets such as MacDonalds,Wendy's Harvey's Swiss Chalet.(10 min or so if walking) A local Pub, Jenny's, is two steps away. It is very close to the MacKay bridge as well. If you'd like to visit the Titanic gravesites, its a 10-15 min walk from this Inn and under 5 if driving.
